Anti-theft etching remains an unequalled deterrent. It is simply the most effective and least expensive line of defence against thieves and the auto parts black market. This permanent and easy solution protects over fifty car parts, particularly the most valuable that are most frequently and easily resold on the black market.
The April 2002 issue of Protégez-Vous magazine considers anti-theft marking as the best defence against car theft, according to a study commissioned by the Groupement des assureurs automobiles and published the article "Comment choisir son antivol". Guardian DNA1 is the most effective and advanced car marking system in the world. Not only do we etch a minimum of 50 parts, including more hidden locations, but each part is etched with our Web site address (dna1.ca) in addition to an easy to read five-digit number. When police cross-reference this number in our database - the only of its kind that is accessible exclusively to police via the Web 24/7 - they will get the Vehicle Identification Number or serial number of the vehicle. Clearly visible markings make our system an excellent deterrent. And given that it can help identify stolen goods and prosecute thieves and fences, it is also an effective way to crack down on crime. A vehicle with Guardian etched markings is of no interest to thieves and black market dealers. Compared to untraceable parts, stolen marked auto parts are worth next to nothing on the black market. There is no question that when a marked part is stolen and it finds its way onto a parts dealer's shelves, very few people - not even the most dishonest - are willing to take the risk. It is just not worth it! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
