Absolutely. Guardian will etch your rebuilt vehicle if you supply a Proof of Authentication. The mention « rebuilt » on the registration certificate is not sufficient proof for etching. The status of « Rebuilt Vehicle » designates a severely damaged vehicle rebuilt in Québec or elsewhere for which a certificate of technical compliance and a mechanical inspection certificate have been issued by an authorized agent of Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec. Unfortunately, the vehicle identification number, or V.I.N., of these vehicles is often transferred to stolen vehicles or they are rebuilt with stolen part. That is why Guardian requires a Proof of Authentication.

A charge of $454 including taxes will be payable to obtain the Proof of Authentication. The Proof will be issued to the insurer, stipulating that the vehicle is consistent with the expertise mentioned above. As a result, Guardian will be able to etch your vehicle.
